GRO Snow Ladies Hit the SUMMIT at Snoqualmie
Sunshine, Slopes and Smiles! Summit at Snoqualmie GRO Snow Ladies Day
By Pam Miller
The girls of GRO Snow wrapped up this season with one fabulous day of park laps, laughter and good times at The Summit at Snoqualmie April 2, 2016.
Gro Snow Ladies Day brought over 80 ladies of all ages and abilities. The pavilion was filled with music and good times as ladies streamed in to be a part of a very special community. These ladies that are beginning to travel as little possess from one resort to the next as they bond in a sisterhood around snow sports. We loved the stories we are hearing. One of the 60+ year old skiers who won a snowboard at the Timberline event said: “HEY, I’ve signed up for snowboarding lessons! Never too late to learn something fun.” Groups of young girls and older ladies as well are gaining confidence as they cheered each other in the Greenhorn Park at the Summit. Boxes and jumps suited for beginners made this an excellent learning environment. The main park was going off with those who have skills galore.
Lunch time came and everyone gathered for snacks/reduced priced lunches and hit the raffle ticket table for chances to win some pretty sweet product thanks to our great sponsors. New groups rallied for the afternoon session as all set out to play and practice skills they gained in lessons during the morning. The group picture at the end of the day was beginning to feel like a family photo. So many friendships made, moms and daughters, Aunts and nieces……and yes even a few Grandma’s in the group too.
TONs of great gear was raffled as a fund raiser for GRO Snow a volunteer run nonprofit whose goal is the “INSPIRE, EDUCATE and SUPPORT” ladies of all ages in action sports on the snow.
This has been one fabulously fun and successful season. We at GRO Snow want to thank our sponsors for this event: GNU/LIB Tech, Yurba Mate, Roxy, Helly Hanson, Pom Pom, KIND, SuperCedar, Nikita, Snowboard NW, Casual ,Skullcandy, Stance Vans and LINE.
